It's not just a piece of wood and a few bowls. Each Mistolček passes through the hands of people who believe that even an object for a dog can have a soul, a story and value. We make it in Slovakia - from honest oak solid wood, with an emphasis on quality, craftsmanship and sustainability.
It all starts with wood
The basis of Mistolček is oak wood, a material that has been used in our country for centuries and is one of the most durable species in the world. Oak is hard, stable and works beautifully with time. Its structure and texture give the table a natural character, no two pieces are identical. The wood comes exclusively from Slovak suppliers who pay attention to ecological logging and forest restoration. This means that for every tree that is cut down, a new one grows, and the cycle of life continues.
Handicrafts that won't get lost
In the workshop, each piece is cut, sanded and varnished by hand. For us, craft is not just a process, it is an attitude. Each table passes through the hands of a craftsman who checks the details, from the balance of the legs to the precise placement of the bowls. Thanks to this, Mistolček has the same soul as old carpentry products: it is solid, honest and made with love. The surface is finished with an ecological varnish that protects the wood from moisture, but at the same time allows it to breathe. The top is covered with laminate to resist scratches and water - so it can handle everyday feeding without damage.Sustainability is not a trend, but a commitment
When we designed Mistolček, we knew we didn't want to produce "another plastic". Our goal was to create a product that would last for years, not months. Wood is a renewable material, processed locally - no imports from Asia, no unnecessary packaging, no extra carbon footprint. Each table is made in small batches, so there is no waste from overproduction. That's why we say that Mistolček is not just a product, but an attitude towards responsible production.Quality in every detail
Before the table reaches you, it goes through several rounds of inspection. We examine the stability, the durability of the surface, even how firmly the legs hold and whether the bowls fit exactly in the hole. Each piece is signed with our responsibility, so that it reaches the owner who will appreciate honest work. Even small things like rounded edges so that the dog does not get hurt, or the anti-slip treatment of the bottom, are the result of long testing and feedback from dog owners.
Manufacturer's words
"My goal was never to produce quickly. I wanted every piece that left the workshop to last for years and bring joy not only to the dog, but also to the people who have it at home. Wood has a memory. And if you work with it with respect, you can feel it in the product."
- Matúš, our carpenter
